Listed below is select professional projects in alphabetical order I have been involved in either as a full-time employee or part-time consultant in roles related to data analytics and app development, product management and research. As a data scientist, I have specialised in machine learning, natural language processing and statistical analysis of big data. As a software developer I am proficient in database development, fullstack web development and API integrations. I code in Python, R, SQL, Pytorch, Javascript. End customers include B2B, B2G and B2C.

Goal: Advanced B2B2C cross-platform (iOS, Android, desktop) project management application for the construction and service industry. Acting as Product Data Analyst, Product Manager and Growth -consultant since 2022.
Features: Features include role management, project & document management, real-time communication, secure authentication, state-of-the-art time tracking, and more.
Customers: Buildbite has 2000+ customers in Europe and USA.

Goal: In the role of full-time Global Operations specialist, I wrote advanced SQL queries that resulted in an efficiency metric for various Market Operations specialists. The goal was to increase operational efficiency across EMEA and North American markets, which resulted in reacting faster to escalations and keeping more communities safe.
Features: Performance metrics on various dimensions related to Global Operations.
Scope: Global Operations teams (individual contributors), approx. 500 employees.
Data: Self-reported performance data.
End users: Internal use, managers and staffers.

Goal: As data lead, I co-designed an extensive Tableau report that matched misallocated staff with underserved projects across Facebook's EMEA markets. Consumers of report included individual contributors, managers and staffers.
Features: Sort and filter ICs and managers based on various employee properties (eg. availability, language skills, domain knowledge and technical skills). Display and connect IC availability with understaffed projects via a graph map. The dashboard included an overview as well as deep dives into specific areas.
Scope: Global Operations teams (individual contributors, managers), approx. 300 employees.
Data: Survey data (tenure, technical skills, personal skills, certifications, language skills, domain knowledge).
End users: Internal use, managers and staffers.

Goal: As a data analyst, I co-designed a market insights report in Microsoft PowerBI based on financial data of Finnish healthcare companies and Statistics Finland. The objective was to offer our clients insights on market trends.
Features: Reports on financial health of companies, Finnish demographics and health trends.
Scope: All public and private records on Finnish healthcare organizations.
Data: Financial data, Statistics Finland.
Customers: Finnish municipalities, hospitals, medical doctors.

Goal: As an external senior consultant, I help the team with business intelligence best practices, building a custom CRM app as well as with go-to-market planning and execution. Suomen vaalidatapalvelu, a leading data analysis consultancy of Finnish elections, offers premium tailored data journalism as well as prediction services for Finnish parties.
Features: Multi-page reports on election predictions, voting behaviour and trends.
Scope: All public records on Finnish voting behavior.
Data: Statistics Finland, Ministry of Justice, Digital and Populations Services Agency, National Audit Office of Finland.
Customers: Finnish political parties, election candidates, media.

Goal: As lead app developer, I built a national legislation monitoring application that helps lobbyists track in real-time the status of key national projects and bills undertaken by the Finnish parliament and government. The app is built in Google Sheets and exploits data collected from various APIs.
Features: Multi-page reports on personal and organisational favorites, key performance indicators, email alerts.
Scope: All public records on ongoing Finnish legislative bills.
Data: Finnish government.
Customers: lobbyists, political parties, law firms.

Goal: As a PhD researcher, I contribute with data engineering and natural language processing analyses in an international study related to corporate lobbying on Twitter. Affiliated researcher at Helsinki Centre for Social Data Science ('Yhteiskuntadatatieteen keskus').
Features: Automated extraction of target users in the cloud. ETL. Analyses include among other identification and deletion of heavy users ('supertweeters'), topic modeling (most discussed topics) and semantic analyses. Analyses done in Python, NoSQL databases.
Scope: Multiyear panel text corpus from Finland, Denmark and Netherlands. Big data (tens of millions of textual rows). Largest corporate accounts, national political accounts.
Data: Twitter, Orbis.
End user: academics, think tanks.

Goal: Since 2022, I have written on foreign policy and security related to European security for the Washington D.C. think tank, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. The goal of my coauthored work is to raise awareness on important topics related to Nordic security, on both sides of the Atlantic. My work has been cited by eg. The New York Times.
Features: My articles are discuss specific issues in Nordic and Baltic security. In 2024, I'm coauthoring a report on Finnish societal resilience, scheduled for release in the Summer. The reports are data-driven and follow journalistic best practices.
